Silver Lake Sunset, Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia is my #1 selling framed print. This in one of my favorite all time places to take sunset pictures, located just below the Smith Mountain Lake State Park on the Roanoke river. It was nearly 100 degrees out when I had to make a 75 yard dash with some 35 pounds of gear in tow, as I made it with only minutes to spare! This image is ideal for 20"x 30" prints as I have sold more of this image in this size, framed, than any other photographs I have ever sold.

SPECIAL ALERT: After searching for Smith Mountain Lake pictures sold by other photographers here, I noticed that most of them had nothing to do with Smith Mountain Lake. Rest assured that all of our images labeled or tagged, 'Smith Mountain Lake' are genuine Smith Mountain Lake photographs.

The James Roney Collection

Mr. James Roney (pronounced Roe`nee) is a native Virginian born into a family that loves photography. By the age of 13, James had has his first camera, a black and white Kodak instamatic, and by 17 he had finished two years of photography class. Then in 1987, Mr. Roney founded The American Shutterbug Society dedicated to helping inspiring photographers. As a true nature lover, James fell in love with landscape photography, and the hopeless romantic he is, James naturally pursued wedding photography.
