After taking pictures from this same spot for nearly twenty years on the Blue Ridge Parkway, this day produced one of the most beautiful, almost surreal signature pictures I have ever taken. This picture is the James River taken in early fall taken off the James River Bridge looking west on the Blue Ridge Parkway, thus that's the Blue Ridge mountains you see in the background.

By the age of 13, James had has his first camera, a black and white Kodak instamatic, and by 17 he had finished two years of photography class.
